摘要: 采用计算机仿真的方法, 在共享缓冲区型ATM交换机的输入端口为CBR业务流的情况下, 从信元丢失率、 平均时延、 时延抖动3个方面对CP, CS, SMA, SMXQ 4种缓冲区分配策略的性能进行了比较研究.结果表明: 无论是均匀业务环境还是非均匀业务环境, CP的缓冲区利用率最低, CS的缓冲区分配的公平性最差, 而SMA及SMXQ在缓冲区利用率和分配的公平性上采取了一定的折衷而成为性能较好的策略.

Abstract: We use computer simulation to compares four types ofbuffer allocation strategies in shared buffer ATM switches under CBR load, including complete partition(CP), complete sharing(CS), sharing with minimum allocation(SMA), sharing with maximum queue length(SMXQ). We compare the four strategies from three aspects: cell loss probability(R), mean delay(D) and delay distribution (delay jitter). By the comparison, we find that CPis not good for its large buffer capacity, and CS is not good for its unfairness among the output ports.Because SMA and SMXQ have a trade-off between buffer utilization and fairness, they are good buffer allocation strategies in practical applications.
