摘要:

提出了支持高效管理的软件定义数据中心网络控制架构(FRINGE),采用分布式和集中式相结合的控制,特点是在网络边缘构建软件定义的集中管理域,利用边缘网络设备的可编程配置能力提高网络管理效率. 通过分析发现,FRINGE具有较好的实现可行性,仅需对现有数据中心柜顶交换机进行OpenFlow软件升级. 以数据中心网络管理功能中的故障诊断为例,说明了FRINGE可提升网络管理的性能,诊断探测开销比原有方法可降低至少2个数量级.

Abstract:

The target of network control in datacenter is to satisfy the requirement of network resources of tenants and meet the demand of network management. A method of edge software-defined control framework supporting efficient management in data center network(DCN) was proposed named FRINGE. FRINGE builds up a software-defined networking(SDN) management domain at the edge of datacenter networks, exploiting configurable network devices to improve the efficiency of network management. The article analyzed the feasibility of implementation of FRINGE by updating the software of top-of-rack switches to support OpenFlow. It illustrates the troubleshooting in network management to present the enhanced effectiveness of the framework. The probing overhead of FRINGE is two orders of magnitude less than the previous method.
