Abstract: The major problems within this field, especially from the point of fault-tolerance were analyzed. Some effective fault tolerance approaches to implement high reliability network management system were presented, including data，server, network and software fault tolerance. Finally the cost of them was compared and analyzed. The advantage， disadvantage and availability of each approach were also presented.
