- Based on the analysis of the main elements and working flow involved in test result automatic judgment of network management interface testing , a generic definition method of test result automatic judgment rules is proposed .The syntax of description language of the judgment rules is provided , so are the EBNF format definition of test result judgment file and the corresponding usage descriptions .And a unique parameter value localization method is also provided.Furthermore , a practical design of the internal construction of the test result judgment subsystem is discussed , and the basic working mechanism is also introduced .

- Generation of test cases from a protocol specification for the purposes of testing both control and data flow aspects of a protocol implementation is a challenging problem .In this paper , we propose a testing method , based on construct type algebra , which combined control and data flow .We also provide one algorithm of generating test cases based on this testing method , another algorithm of transforming a specification of
  
  Finite State Machine to specification of Construct Type Algebra .The use of this method is illustrated by a practical example of testing the routing protocol RIP.

- Proposes a Service Control View that lies on softswitch supporting multiparty multimedia and conference call control capabilities, by which the service logic gets the states of underlying call control process then affects its progress.This Service Control View is characterized as object-oriented, separation of call control and media control, multi granularity view , and a close match for softswitch capabilities. It is compatible with Parlay and IN-CVS ( CS2) , thus givespossibilities to general softswitch service architecture. It could also be a suggestion to future public service interface of softswitch.

- An active network based network management system is presented in this paper, it allows fast and easy deployment of distributed network management application by dynamic active code loading, and uses “push” mode instead of traditional “pull” mode in network management which make the network management environment more efficient and flexible, in addition it is a lightweight method and can gradually be integrated in today' s IP network.The key issues in this system, e. g. security in active network and the management of active code, are also discussed.

- According to the traits of routing protocols, a Tcl-based testing system of conformance testing for routing protocols is put forward and a technique of producing ETS (Executable Test Suite)with Tcl is also introduced .Experiments show that it is an efficient conformance testing method for routing protocols besides TTCN .

- Ontology is defined as a formal explicit specification of conceptualization , the network management knowledge model based on ontology is explored .The framework of knowledge model is presented , which is divided into primitive model and integrated model.Primitive model includes information models, function models and network
  
  models .Integrated model is the result of integration of primitive models based on requirement of network management .The integration of knowledge model is based on ontology algebra and the process of knowledge model is based on ontology inference and query .A prototype of NMS is designed , which is based on the netw ork management knowledge model.The main characters of the prototype are separation of know ledge process and information process, customization of supported operations and know ledge level integrated network management .The validity of knowledge model is illustrated by the prototype.

- A network fault management system research is discussed in the environment of Broadband Community Netw ork (EBCN)based on Ethernet .The fault management system based on event flow model and algorithms, which the fault detection takes integration of two type events, including performance polling and trap receiving .After analysis for the event flow model, the merger of events and faults are presented according the fault status and problems of the network .The fault management structure is applied to enhance the fault management simply and practically on algorithms and solutions.

- On the basis of analysis of network application system fail over factors and high availability system infrastructure, proposed high Availability design pattern for network application . It is a behavioral design pattern, elaborated on the intention , structure, solution and realization of HA pattern, depicted the HA design via UML . The HA pattern is implement in a broadband network billing system, it is proved to be highly improved the high availability of network applications.

Moreover, notations in figure are even introduced. - Relationships between application layer protocols in softswitch are explored . Two concepts, i .e ., protocol relationship and protocol grouping , are proposed .On the basis of a well-known protocol relationship named protocol conversion , three novel protocol relationships including protocol collabo ration relationship , protocol cooperation relationship and protocol independency relationship are presented , so that protocol relationships are classified into four t pes .According to the functionality and purpose of each protocol , main protocols related to softswitch are divided into five groups.A theorem of protocol relationships in softswitch is induced from all kinds of service scenarios of softswitch .This theorem summarizes protocol relationships within each protocol group or between each two protocol groups .A merit of protocol grouping together with classification of protocol relationship is also presented .

- Based on the IETF RFC3430 mothodology for using TCP as the transport protocol of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and the performance of SNMP , some SNMP over TCP management policiesis proposed .The policies reinforces and extends RFC3430 .By improving on SNMP ++ software , an implementation of SNMP over TCP is presented .Furthermore , some discusson supporting both TCP and UDP as SNMP transport protocol is presented , too.

- A novel algorithms for discovering physical topology in heterogeneous IP networks is presented , which rely on standard SNMP MIB information that is widely supported by modern IP network elements. A topology discovery tool of implementing this algorithm can find the accurate physical network topology showing switch-to-switch , switch-to-router, and switch-to-host interconnections in the local area network.
