A novel MMSE receiver suitable for fading channel is proposed, which needs only one MMSE multiuser for each user. Thus, its structure is simply. We analyze the steady state performance of the novel MMSE multiuser detection(MMUD) for downlink CDMA. On the basis of wiener solution,we prove that the output SIR and near-far resistance of MMUD are mainly affected by the correlation matrix of combined spreading signatures.Simulations indicate that in general multipath channel,MMUD can suppress multipleaccess interference and multipath interference more effectively than the Rake receiver, and achieve good near-far resistance, which brings great capacity achievement.
