High Performance Ring Protection for Carrier Ethernet

Abstract:

Ethernet ring protection (ERP) can provide ring automatic protection switch. A filtering database (FDB) flush was proposed based on G. 8032 ERP. Analysis and simulation show that the suggested scheme can effectively improve the performance of ethernet ring by decreasing unnecessary FDB flush in comparison with existing approaches.
