Abstract: From the ordinary discrete differential equations governing the evolution of stimulated Raman scattering power exchange between channels in wavelength-division-multiplexed systems, this paper gives an exact analytical solution for the evolution of stimulated Raman crosstalk. We demonstrate analytically that spectral inversion can in general eliminate SRS crosstalk effects in WDM systems. At the end of this paper, we illustrate the results with an experimental system.
