A Study on the Reduction of Overhead of Resource Management Scheduling Algorithm

Abstract: To lower scheduling overhead in practical application, the method proposed filters feedback information from mobiles and ensures that data mobiles be served at a higher probability when their channels are in good condition. Then a comparison is made between the modified algorithm and the traditional proportional fairness via system level simulations. The results show that the improved algorithm can largely reduce scheduling overhead while meeting certain fairness requirements without any loss of throughput, in fact throughput gain is available to some extent.
