Abstract: Most of the errors in a data block of the turbo codes occur within those symbols whose output LLR of the turbo decoder have the minimum absolute values. The locations of those symbols which have very low LLR absolute value as the references of the error locations are used.Single-bit and multi-bit random errors in a data block can be forward corrected with a simple cyclic redundancy check code.

Key words: error-correcting code, turbo codes, cyclic redundancy check code
