Abstract

Abstract: An active network based network management system is presented in this paper, it allows fast and easy deployment of distributed network management application by dynamic active code loading, and uses “push” mode instead of traditional “pull” mode in network management which make the network management environment more efficient and flexible, in addition it is a lightweight method and can gradually be integrated in today' s IP network.The key issues in this system, e. g. security in active network and the management of active code, are also discussed.
