Abstract

Abstract: A novel algorithms for discovering physical topology in heterogeneous IP networks is presented , which rely on standard SNMP MIB information that is widely supported by modern IP network elements. A topology discovery tool of implementing this algorithm can find the accurate physical network topology showing switch-to-switch , switch-to-router, and switch-to-host interconnections in the local area network.
