Abstract: Wideband modulation can reduce the fast fade marginrequired for TDMA cellular system design for the reason that signal fluctuationwilldecrease as the bandwidth increasing.Computer simulations conclude that, with wideband modulation, the received signal envelope have a log-normal probabilitydensity rather than commonly supposed Rayleigh density. It is also observed thatthe system without frequency hopping can profit more from wide band modulation.
