An EnergyAware Distributed Protocol for SpatialTemporal  Correlated Data Gathering in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract:

An energyefficient data gathering protocol based on zones and tree is proposed. The correlated zones are constructed based on the correlation difference among the sensing data. The data inside each correlated zone is aggregated and its transmission rate is adjusted. Then a data gathering tree is built based on nodes’ residual energy and distance in betweens. Simulations show that the proposed protocol outperforms existing data gathering protocols in terms of energy consumption and network lifetime.
